Rejuvenate your skin and diminish pesky signs of aging with incredible Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser technology.

IPL is a progressive laser treatment that not only corrects skin damage without disrupting the skin's surface, but also changes the way your collagen behaves. The procedure uses scattered light energy with a broad wave spectrum to promote collagen production and healing of the dermis that allows your skin to not only repair itself, but to prevent further damage in the future.

Years of sun damage and brown spots can easily be erased, leaving you with younger, naturally beautiful looking skin!

How it works...

IPL Photofacial is an effective way to treat and reduce mild sun damage, brown spots, and irregular pigmentation on the face, neck and chest. It uses intense flashes of light that penetrate deep below skin's surface to break down pigment and target hemoglobin (for capillaries) and melanin-producing cells.

Why we love it...

It's an incredibly effective way to remove areas of discoloration but without being invasive or requiring a total resurfacing. There's no downtime and it's actually kind of cool to watch the spots surface and then flake away. We also love that it can address a variety of skin concerns to reveal a more even-toned, radiant complexion.

Treatable Concerns

  • Hyperpigmentation

Hyperpigmentation is a common condition where some areas of the skin are darker than others. IPL therapy uses light energy to heat and break up this excess melanin.

  • Photodamage

Photodamage, also known as "sun spots", occur after long periods of exposure to the sun's powerful rays. IPL Photofacial is able to quickly and effectively reverse this damage.

  • Redness/Rosacea

IPL Photofacial removes superficial vessels and as a result dramatically decreases or completely eliminates facial redness.

  • Acne

IPL heats the dermis to destroy the acne-causing bacteria on your skin while also destroy the skin cells that cause acne's uneven pigmentation to give you brighter, more even-toned skin.

  • Freckles

Freckles are higher in melanin than normal skin. IPL's laser energy is absorbed by the freckles leading to the destruction of the melanin in the freckle and its removal.

  • Brown Spots

Brown spots, or "age spots", produces areas of skin that is darker than others. These spots absorb the light energy from the IPL device, killing off their damaged cells.

  • Spider Veins

IPL for spider veins directly targets the red pigment of the broken capillaries and damages the blood vessel using heat. After the vessel walls collapse, it is eventually absorbed back into the body.

  • Fine Lines

The collagen in our skin degrades with age, resulting in fewer collagen and elastin fibers to support the skin. Light from IPL targets the loose collagen, destroys it, and boosts your skin's natural collagen production.

Pre- & Post-Treatment Tips

  • If you wear makeup to your appointment, we'll need to remove it before your treatment.

  • Avoid Retin-A and other cream exfoliants for at least a week prior to your service. You should also avoid sun exposure – we can't perform an IPL Facial on tanned skin.

  • You'll experience some redness and possibly some darkening of pigmented spots. Keep this in mind if you schedule your treatment hours before a big event.

  • Limit sun exposure and wear a sunscreen. It's necessary help protect skin – and also preserve your results.

  • You'll notice dark spots rise to the surface of skin within 24-48 hours. That's totally normal. Let them flake off on their own. (This should take about 1-2 weeks.)

  • Your skin may be mildly red and warm after treatment, similar to the feeling of a sunburn. Ice packs or cold compresses are recommended.

FAQs

When will I see results?

You'll begin to see an improvement in skin within 1-2 weeks. However, the results continue to improve over time, and you'll likely see the best results about 1 month after your last treatment.

How often should I get this service?

IPL Photofacial initially requires 3-5 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart. After that, we recommend you repeat the series once a year.

Can I go back to work after?

Yes, you can! You'll experience some redness, but you're free to cover it up with makeup.

Will it hurt?

Clients say it feels like a rubber-band snapping against skin. Which is to say it can be a little uncomfortable, but it's relatively painless. Afterwards, it might feel like you have a mild sunburn.

Am I a candidate for IPL?

A good candidate would be someone that is looking to rejuvenate their features, whether to smooth fine lines or correct a skin condition. It’s important to know that people with tanned or dark skin sometimes experience a change in pigment after receiving a treatment such as IPL photofacial. This will all be discussed during your initial consultation with our laser experts!

Can I treat areas of my body, or only my face?

All areas of your body can be treated! The most common areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands.

How long will my results last?

Your results can last for years as long as the skin is cared for properly with a sufficient skin care routine and sun protection. We can help you with that *wink*.
