Pre- & Post-Treatment Tips

  • If you wear makeup to your appointment, we'll need to remove it before your treatment in order to get a clean canvas.

  • Nervous for your first time? Bring a friend! Planning a date day for your filler treatment makes your experience twice as fun.

  • If taken pre-treatment, arnica and bromelain can help reduce post-treatment swelling and bruising. You can also take Tylenol.

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages the night before your appointment. It can make skin more susceptible to bruising.

  • It's best to avoid aspirin and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for a week before your treatment to help reduce bruising.

  • You are not a candidate for these injections if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Cold packs are your friend. Use them liberally for 8 hours after your treatment to help reduce swelling.

  • Avoid exercise for 24 hours after your treatment. And facials are a no-go for at least 2 weeks.

  • You may lie down after fillers, but please avoid laying on your face (even the sides of your face).

  • It’s important to stay hydrated! Be sure to drink plenty of water after your treatment.

FAQs

What's the difference between Restylane and Botox?

While both treatments address signs of aging, Restylane filler adds volume and “fills” wrinkles using hyaluronic acid, while Botox temporarily relaxes muscles to reduce the appearance of lines.
What can I expect at my treatment?

Expect a quick, simple, and exciting process that leaves your skin feeling fantastic! 

When you arrive, a numbing cream will be applied to minimize any discomfort. Our skilled injectors will then use fine needles to inject Restylane into the marked areas. Described as a slight pinch, the injection process is very manageable! In around 15-30 minutes, you can return to your day, none the wiser! 

Normal swelling and bruising may occur, but it should quickly fade over the next few days. 
Is treatment safe? Will it hurt?

Absolutely! Restylane is designed with safety in mind. The main ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is a natural substance found in your body, making it quite friendly. While it's generally safe, there might be some minor side effects like temporary redness or swelling.

While serious adverse effects are rare, we will go over your medical history and any medications you are currently taking to make sure Restylane is right for you! 
Restylane or Juvéderm?

Restylane and Juvéderm are both popular hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers that work wonders for rejuvenating the skin. They share similar purposes – adding volume, smoothing wrinkles, and enhancing features – but with slightly different textures and consistencies. Restylane is known for its firmer texture and might be better for volumizing specific areas, while Juvéderm might be preferable for the finest lines with its smoother feel.

Can I go back to work after my treatment?

For sure! You might have a bit of redness or swelling, but it's usually short-lived and shouldn’t prevent you from getting back to your day. You may want to avoid intense workouts and excessive sun exposure for a short while. 
Can I combine filler with other treatments?

Absolutely! Restylane plays well with others – you can often combine it with Botox or other treatments for a full refresh.
When will I see results?

You may begin to see results immediately as the hyaluronic acid begins to work its magic. Refreshed and youthful skin will begin to shine through over the next few days as any initial swelling or redness settles down. Expect full results within a couple of weeks!  
How long will my results last?

Your new look can stick around from 6 months to a year, depending on which Restylane type you get. We suggest scheduling touch-up treatments to extend and maintain your results!
