Pre- & Post-Treatment Tips

  • If you wear makeup to your appointment, we'll need to remove it before your treatment in order to get a clean canvas.

  • Nervous for your first time? Bring a friend! Planning a date day for your filler treatment makes your experience twice as fun.

  • If taken pre-treatment, arnica and bromelain can help reduce post-treatment swelling and bruising. You can also take Tylenol.

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages the night before your appointment. It can make skin more susceptible to bruising.

  • It's best to avoid aspirin and NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for a week before your treatment to help reduce bruising.

  • You are not a candidate for these injections if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • Cold packs are your friend. Use them liberally for 8 hours after your treatment to help reduce swelling.

  • Avoid exercise for 24 hours after your treatment. And facials are a no-go for at least 2 weeks.

  • You may lie down after fillers, but please avoid laying on your face (even the sides of your face).

  • It’s important to stay hydrated! Be sure to drink plenty of water after your treatment.

FAQs

What's the difference between Juvéderm and Botox?

While both treatments address signs of aging, Juvéderm filler adds volume and “fills” wrinkles using hyaluronic acid, while Botox temporarily relaxes muscles to reduce the appearance of lines.
What Can I Expect after my treatment?

First, a numbing cream will be applied to minimize any discomfort. Then the tiny injections will put the Juvéderm right where you want it! It's usually pretty quick, about 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the treatment area and amount of filler needed. It’s completely normal to feel some slight pinches or pressure. 

Afterwards, you can get right back with your day! You might have a bit of redness or swelling for a few days, but that's just your skin settling down.
Is Juvéderm Safe?

Juvederm is FDA-approved and considered safe when administered by  trained professional.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you will want to hold off on Juvéderm. We will talk about any medical history or medications during your consultation to make sure Juvéderm is a great fit for you.

In general,  anyone that is generally healthy and is looking for a little volume, wrinkle-smoothing, and feature-boosting would be a great candidate!

Is Treatment Right for me?

Healthy men and women with dynamic facial wrinkles are good candidates for Botox; however, if you have deeply-etched wrinkles, Botox might not be right for you.

Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant should wait to get Botox. Individuals with neuromuscular disorders such as ALS or Lambert-Eaton syndrome are not good candidates for Botox.

During your consultation, your injector will ask you about any allergies, current medications etc. We will make sure that Botox is safe and appropriate for you.
Will It Hurt?

Nope, not much at all! Most Juvéderm products contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, making the pain very minimal. You may feel a few tiny pinches, but nothing major! 

Afterwards, you may experience some temporary side effects. Some experience swelling, redness, bruising, and minor discomfort. But these are generally reported to be minor and should subside within a few days!
What if I change my mind?

Most are thrilled with their results, but if necessary, we can inject the hyaluronidase enzyme to dissolve Juvéderm. From there, we can adjust your Juvéderm treatment plan to better meet your beauty goals! 
How long will my results last?

Results generally last from 6 months to 2 years, depending on the specific type of Juvéderm. Touch-up sessions can help maintain your stunning results!
Is there downtime? Can I go back to work?

One of the things that makes dermal fillers so great is there's little downtime. There's no reason you can't go back to work afterwards, although keep in mind that you may experience some redness, swelling or bruising.

You'll start to see results almost immediately, and can expect to see full results in about 2 weeks.
