Even out your skin’s texture and pore size, making it look smoother, softer, and younger.

Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins in your body, but it decreases with age. As a result, your skin doesn’t heal itself as well, resulting in blemishes, scars, and wrinkles.

At Ellehomme Holistic Med Spa, our microneedling treatment gives your skin the refresh it needs! Microneedling evenly stimulates collagen–minimizing blemishes,  tightening  skin, and promoting  a vibrant, healthy glow.

How it works...

Using a handheld device, microscopic puncture wounds are evenly distributed to the top layer of your skin. These wounds stimulate collagen, kickstart  your body’s natural healing process, and improve the texture and elasticity of your skin.

Why we love it...

Nearly 90% of people who undergo microneedling say they would recommend it to friends and family. Microneedling packs a powerful punch as it minimizes blemishes, enlarged pores, and damaged surfaces while also giving your skin a healthy, vibrant glow. Treatment is safe, comfortable and pain free.

Treatable Concerns

  • Fine Lines + Wrinkles

Years of smiling and facial expressions leave their mark! Microneedling rejuvenates the skin from the inside out, which naturally fills wrinkles, evens texture, and smooths out the skin.

  • Enlarged Pores

Microneedling rejuvenates skin in the treated area, which can dramatically reduce the size of pores after just one treatment!

  • Skin Laxity

Sagging can happen in your arms, chest, decollete, stomach, knees, under the buttocks, feet, or thighs. Wherever sagging is occurring, microneedling can tighten, strengthen, and refresh your skin.

  • Hyperpigmentation

This condition makes some areas of the skin darker than others. Microneedling boosts collagen and elastin production by creating micro-injuries during treatment. This will help remove the damaged, darker skin cells and make way for new, radiant skin.

  • Crow's Feet

Wrinkles at outer corners of eyes. Microneedling spurs collagen and elastin which shore up the skin around the eyes and make wrinkles disappear.

  • Skin Tone + Texture

Over time, skin becomes thinner, loses fat, and no longer looks as full or smooth as it once did. Microneedling address these issues by removing dead cells, exfoliating skin, and providing a serge in collagen production.

  • Overall Radiance

The micro-needles used during the procedure renew deeper layers of the skin by kicking it into "repair" mode. While the skin works to rejuvenate itself, overall complexion and texture is improved for a glowing appearance.

Pre- & Post-Treatment Tips

  • If you wear makeup to your appointment, we'll need to remove it before your treatment.

  • Avoid Retinol, active ingredients, and at-home peels for at least 7 days prior to, and 10 days after your treatment.

  • Avoid Botox or filler treatments, or resurfacing for at least 2 weeks prior.

  • If you've been sunburned recently, it's best to wait 3 weeks to a month before this treatment.

  • Have a big event coming up? We do not recommend receiving this treatment a few days before, since you may experience some redness and flaking.

  • You’ll likely experience noticeable redness, and possibly swelling, afterwards. A cool compress or cooling masque will alleviate the swelling quicker.

  • Avoid working out (anything where you break a sweat) for 1-2 days post-treatment.

How does microneedling work?

When our microneedling device's tiny needles puncture the skin, the body responds by beginning its natural healing process. The body’s healing response stimulates collagen growth to the treated area and renews skin. Really, the body begins to heal itself, thus healing blemishes, scars and other skin conditions while doing so. This treatment promotes the production of collagen, which is the protein needed for smoother looking skin. Individual results will vary in each patient.

What can I expect at my treatment?

Our procedure is quick, typically ranging from 20-30 minutes. To begin, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin in order to provide for a more comfortable procedure. Once the topical cream has taken affect, the Micro-pen will be utilized to gently glide across the surface of the face, creating tiny micro-channels within the top layers of the skin. However, these micro-channels are very tiny, therefore you are likely to not notice them post-treatment. A calming serum may be applied to the face post-treatment.

Is microneedling safe?

Microneedling is considered a very safe procedure. Unlike other treatments that introduce chemicals and outside elements to your skin, microneedling simply activates the healing process found naturally in your skin. The natural process leads to natural-looking results!

Normal Side effects may include:

  • Mild bruising
  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Itching
  • Peeling
  • While unlikely, there are risks of skin infection

Microneedling is not suggested for people with clotting or bleeding disorders, or who take blood thinners.

When will I see results?

You’ll see brighter skin right away, after treatment as the redness fades. In the following weeks, you’ll see more noticeable results. Full results should be apparent around 3 months.

It may take several treatments, spaced about a month apart, to enjoy maximum results. From there, we suggest a once-a-year service to maintain your results!

Will it hurt?

It's not the most comfortable treatment however, we do as much as we can to help with pain management by applying a topical anesthetic pre-treatment and providing you with breaks during the treatment.

Can I go back to work afterwards?

You may want to schedule your appointment before a weekend or take some time off. While you technically could, there may be noticeable redness, swelling or bumps that will go away in a few short days.

What should I avoid after treatment?

Limit touching or avoid putting anything on your face for the first few days. For best results, skip makeup for 1-2 days. Avoid sun exposure, minimize sweating, and avoid exfoliating and your normal skincare regimen. Stay hydrated and wait to enjoy your full results!

What's a Vampire Facial?

Microneedling can also be combined with other techniques, such as PRP "Vampire Facials". The PRP (platelet rich plasma) that’s in the patient’s own blood would be spread across the surface of the skin. This is followed by microneedling, which allows the PRP to have access to the dermis. The result of these combined treatments includes faster healing and a noticeable glow immediately following the procedure.
