When our microneedling device's tiny needles puncture the skin, the body responds by beginning its natural healing process. The body’s healing response stimulates collagen growth to the treated area and renews skin. Really, the body begins to heal itself, thus healing blemishes, scars and other skin conditions while doing so. This treatment promotes the production of collagen, which is the protein needed for smoother looking skin. Individual results will vary in each patient.
Our procedure is quick, typically ranging from 20-30 minutes. To begin, a topical anesthetic will be applied to the skin in order to provide for a more comfortable procedure. Once the topical cream has taken affect, the Micro-pen will be utilized to gently glide across the surface of the face, creating tiny micro-channels within the top layers of the skin. However, these micro-channels are very tiny, therefore you are likely to not notice them post-treatment. A calming serum may be applied to the face post-treatment.
Microneedling is considered a very safe procedure. Unlike other treatments that introduce chemicals and outside elements to your skin, microneedling simply activates the healing process found naturally in your skin. The natural process leads to natural-looking results!
You’ll see brighter skin right away, after treatment as the redness fades. In the following weeks, you’ll see more noticeable results. Full results should be apparent around 3 months.
It may take several treatments, spaced about a month apart, to enjoy maximum results. From there, we suggest a once-a-year service to maintain your results!
It's not the most comfortable treatment however, we do as much as we can to help with pain management by applying a topical anesthetic pre-treatment and providing you with breaks during the treatment.
You may want to schedule your appointment before a weekend or take some time off. While you technically could, there may be noticeable redness, swelling or bumps that will go away in a few short days.
Limit touching or avoid putting anything on your face for the first few days. For best results, skip makeup for 1-2 days. Avoid sun exposure, minimize sweating, and avoid exfoliating and your normal skincare regimen. Stay hydrated and wait to enjoy your full results!
Microneedling can also be combined with other techniques, such as PRP "Vampire Facials". The PRP (platelet rich plasma) that’s in the patient’s own blood would be spread across the surface of the skin. This is followed by microneedling, which allows the PRP to have access to the dermis. The result of these combined treatments includes faster healing and a noticeable glow immediately following the procedure.
